Background Check Policy
As set forth in the University’s Background Check Policy, the University conducts background checks on newly hired or rehired employees, volunteers, Special Community Members, and participants in a clinical practicum in a University degree program. The policy addresses the consequences for failure to consent to a background check, failure to provide necessary information, and providing false/misleading information, as well as the procedures for addressing negative information revealed during the background check process.
A final offer of employment at the University is contingent on the successful completion of the background check. Current employees, associates, volunteers, and Special Community Members must notify Human Resources and Inclusive Community upon final conviction of a felony or misdemeanor in any jurisdiction.
